GAEILGE SA SCOIL

We are delighted that our Gaelbhratach is now flying outside the school. The páistí and múinteoirí have been working very hard on using níos mó Gaeilge ar scoil. It’s wonderful to walk into classes as young as Junior Infants and to be greeted in Irish by the páistí.

Our assemblies gach seachtain now include an Irish dán/amhrán nó paidir and the standard of work being presented is go h-íontach! We had a few very special moments recently; in particular it was lovely to hear the páisti ag canadh “Amhrán na bhFiann” for our ceiliúradh of 1916. It is very moving to witness the páistí showing such pride in their heritage and culture.

We would like to encourage the páisti and indeed their tuismitheoirí to use as much Gaeilge as they can sa bhaile freisin. Many thanks to the Coiste Gaeilge who have worked so hard on promoting Irish over the last few years and we look forward to working on the next stage of our Gaelbhratach over the coming year with the new Coiste members.
