Thank you to our Litter Pickers

Thank you to our Litter Pickers

The Green School Committee recently carried out a fantastic litter-picking clean-up around the school grounds. Using litter pickers, gloves, and rubbish bags, the students worked hard to collect a huge amount of litter and help keep our school environment clean and tidy.

The committee showed great teamwork, responsibility, and care for the environment throughout the activity. Their hard work has made a big difference to the school grounds, and we are very proud of the excellent job they did. Well done to everyone involved!

Parent Visit to our Outdoor Play Area

Parent Visit to our Outdoor Play Area

On Thursday 14th and Friday 15th May, our Junior and Senior Infants welcomed their parents to their Outdoor Play sessions.

Plenty of fun was had by all with the children showing off their climbing, digging and building skills!

A big thank you to all who were able to attend, as the Infants’ parents have been extremely helpful in setting up the area itself.
Grandparents’ Day

Grandparents’ Day

As always we had a lovely Grandparents’ Day this year. Our Grandparents / Special Visitors were first invited into the hall for a cuppa and some entertainment from the choir and Mr. Byrne’s 4th class. Our visitors then had the opportunity to visit the classrooms and have a catch up with the students and staff. Have a look below at the photos from the day which really captures the joyful and welcoming atmosphere that was felt on the day.

Rainbow Sponsored Walk

Rainbow Sponsored Walk

Our school gathered together last week for a wonderful Rainbow Walk around the village of Ratoath. Each class level dressed in a different colour of the rainbow, creating a fantastic display as we walked through the village.

The event was a huge success, raising €8,500 through the incredible support and sponsorship of our families, friends, and local community. The funds raised will go towards the continued development of our school library.

A sincere thank you to everyone who supported the walk. A special thanks also to the Library Committee, Student Council, Ms. Kennedy, and Ms. Ward for all their hard work in organising such a memorable and successful event. Thank you also to Donnelly Fresh for supplying juicy mandarins to the students after their walk.

Welcome to our PAW-some new arrival

Welcome to our PAW-some new arrival

There was big news at Assembly last Friday when the children heard about the imminent arrival of our new therapy dog “Ronan”. The children (and staff!) couldn’t wait for Monday to come to finally meet our fluffiest and cutest new arrival, Ronan. Ronan is a nine week old Goldendoodle – a cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever. We think everyone will agree that he is super cute.

Previous schools involved in this programme have reported significant improvements in wellbeing, mental health, anxiety levels, attendance and overall school morale – which we are already witnessing this week in the school.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the successful application to My Canine Companion (MCC) and in particular to our SNA Nicola who will be Ronan’s main “handler”. Ronan can’t wait to meet you all soon.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny paid a special visit to our school this week, bringing lots of excitement and smiles for everyone! The younger classes took part in a fun Easter egg hunt, searching the school grounds for hidden eggs. The Easter Bunny also left a special chocolate treat for all the children.

Be sure to take a look at the video below to see some of the highlights from this special visit. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Fifth & Sixth Class trip to Fairyhouse

Fifth & Sixth Class trip to Fairyhouse

The pupils in 5th and 6th Class had a fantastic opportunity this week to visit Fairyhouse, where they took part in a special Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) Racing Juniors education day. During their visit, they went behind the scenes, exploring the weighroom and getting a look inside the jockeys’ changing area. They also learned about the equipment jockeys use on race days, including boots, back protectors, helmets, and saddles. The experience was made even more memorable when they met a horse trainer and a jockey, who shared valuable insights into their roles and daily work.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge iontach againn i St. Paul’s. Bhí neart spraoi againn i rith na seachtaine le damhsa, bingo, cluichí, ceolchoirm agus paráid Lá Glas. Buíochas mór le Ms. Brennan agus Ms. Ní Néill as an seachtain iontach a eagrú. Agus freisin le Mr. Duffy as an bhfíseán álainn thíos a chruthú.

We had a great Seachtain na Gaeilge in St. Paul’s. We had a variety of activities over the week with dancing, bingo, games, concert and a Lá Glas parade. A big thank you to Ms. Brennan and Ms. Ní Néill for organising a great week. And also to Mr. Duffy for creating the lovely video below.

Girls’ Mini-Sevens Team

Girls’ Mini-Sevens Team

Our girls’ mini-sevens team togged out on Wednesday the 4th of March in our home pitch. They played a great first match against Rathregan, getting an easy win. Unfortunately they had two tough back to back losses against strong Rathbeggan and Kilcloon teams and finished the day with a win against Dunboyne, with the girls putting in a super performance. Well done girls and thank you also to their coaches Ms. O’Donovan and Mr. Mulvaney.

Think Pink for Legally Blonde in Ratoath College!

Think Pink for Legally Blonde in Ratoath College!

The children in 4th, 5th and 6th classes were lucky enough to visit Ratoath College last week to watch their fantastic performance of Legally Blonde. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Below, you can read Erin Lane’s (4th Class) account of the show, where she shares her thoughts and highlights from the day. Thank you also to Ana O’Leary for the gorgeous picture of the star of the show Elle Woods.

If you love drama, romance and pink…. then this is your dream show! Legally Blonde is a real hit. The first bit of pink stuff was Elle’s three best friends “The Delta Nu’s”. They were colour co-ordinated with their super cute outfits. Then I don’t know if I should mention her ex Warner – I know like what! But don’t worry she had her little cute dog Bruiser in her purse. Although I’m not sure where he got his name as he couldn’t bruise anyone! Next up was Elle’s soon to be friend Emmet…. or I guess you’ll have to watch the show to find out what happens there.

Then there’s the one you’ve been waiting for the star of the show Elle Woods. What a lady. Amazing.

Before I finish let me about my two favourite songs: “Oh my God, yes” and “Bend and Snap”. I loved them. This really is a one of a kind show and I, Erin Lane, absolutely loved it. You will too!
