SCHOOL HISTORY

Welcome to St. Paul’s National School. St. Paul’s is a Catholic School, which was founded in 2005. It operates under the auspices of the Department of Education and Skills and under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath. The school is in a developing area and was established to accommodate the changes in the population of Ratoath.

In 2005 St. Paul’s National School opened with 2 teachers (Ms. McGowan and Ms. Ward) and 28 children. In the intervening years it has grown to its current size of over 46 staff members and over 550 children. We have 23 mainstream classes and 3 classes for children with autism. We have 9 learning support and resource teachers, an administrative Principal and an administrative Deputy Principal. We also have 22 Special Needs assistants, a full-time caretaker, a full-time secretary and a part-time first-aid officer. In 2026 we welcomed our therapy dog Ronan!

St. Paul’s started in prefabs but in 2011 we moved to our beautiful new building on the same site.
