Back to Back Victories for St. Paul’s Girls’ GAA Team

Back to Back Victories for St. Paul’s Girls’ GAA Team

The St. Paul’s Girls’ football team can now be written into the History books in St. Paul’s after their comprehensive victory against a strong and spirited team from St. Oliver Plunkett’s, Navan in the Cumann na mBunscol final recently. The girls thoroughly deserved the trophy after their fantastic efforts all year. The work rate and attitude from every member of the panel was commendable. It has been an incredible run of form for this team, who only last year won the Division 1 Shield.  They have now gone through the last two seasons unbeaten and are the first school team to win the Division 1 Shield and Division 1 titles in consecutive years. A special mention also for Megan Lane who won the Meath Chronicle Spirit of the Final award. Well done girls. Everyone in the school is so proud of you!

A Successful Walk to School Week!

A Successful Walk to School Week!

The weather wasn’t always kind to us this week, but where they could, the boys and girls (and adults too!) made a great effort to take part in our Walk to School week!

We were delighted to see so many walking to school. Indeed many children also came to school on scooters and bicycles which is another great way to arrive to St. Paul’s in an environmentally friendly way!

This week, the children were learning about the benefits of walking for our minds, our bodies and the environment- take the opportunity this weekend to go for a walk and help us to keep fit, keep healthy and keep green!

Walk to School Week!

Walk to School Week!

Next week is “National Walk to School Week” (Monday, September 19th to Friday, 23rd of September). This is a week where we want to celebrate walking as a positive mode for school journeys. Next week, especially on Wednesday 21st, we would like to encourage the children to walk to school (where possible) or park and stride (where parents/ childminders park their car at a destination close by and walk the rest of the journey to school together). In school, the children will participate in a variety of activities, linked to different areas of the curriculum, that aim to promote the benefits of choosing walking as a mode of transport.

We fully appreciate that it is not always possible, for a variety of reasons, for children and their parents to walk to school and the children will be reassured that we understand that.

We look forward to seeing the children next week on their walk to school and helping us to make a positive difference to our environment and helping our community and school environment to be as green as can be!

Santa Dash 2021

Santa Dash 2021

On Friday 17th December, the children of St. Paul’s N.S. took part in a Santa Run on the school grounds. All children wore their school tracksuits and something festive. The children turned up very excited wearing Christmas Jumpers, Christmas Hairbands, Santa Hats and all looked very festive.

The children came out with their Year groups. We had 19 wonderful 6th Class children who were the pace setters for the laps to help keep the class socially distant. The 6th Class children ran in front of each class setting the pace and encouraging the classes as each class completed 2 laps of the front yard. 5th and 6th Classes completed 3 laps of the front yard.

Lots of smiles, laughter and Christmas songs were to be seen and heard as the children completed their Santa Run. Have a look at some of our pictures from the day thanks to their teachers. Thank you to all the staff for helping out on the day. Our 6th Class children who helped out with the younger classes were Katie, Jamie, Lucy, Tadhg, Kian, Emily, Rian, Ben, Kean, Lauren, Aoibheann, Gracie, Megan, Amber, Caoimhe, Olivia, Daisey, Harry, Jack and Morgan.
