First V.I.P students in St. Paul’s!

First V.I.P students in St. Paul’s!

Huge congratulations to our very first V.I.Ps (Very Important Pupil) in St. Paul’s. These children were randomly selected in their classes on Friday morning and presented with a certificate at Assembly with a special compliment from their teacher. The children will wear a V.I.P badge for the week to remind us all that they are this week’s V.I.Ps. We will celebrate their uniqueness this week and treat them with extra kindness. A new name will be selected next week for another group of V.I.Ps.

Thank You Yvonne!

Thank You Yvonne!

We had a special assembly this week to say a huge thank you to a very important person in the school – our amazing school secretary, Yvonne.

Whether it’s a photocopying request, a letter to be sent out, a reassuring phone call to a parent, or simply a friendly greeting in the morning, no job is ever too big or too small for Yvonne — and every task is carried out with a smile on her face.

Her warmth, patience, and dedication make a difference in countless ways, and this assembly was our way of saying a huge thank you. Second Class composed a wonderful song “Count on Yvonne” which everyone proudly sang, including the “staff choir”!  Thank you Yvonne for everything you do. We’re so lucky to have you!

Trash for Cash: Re-turn Scheme Raises €291.50 for St. Paul’s!

Trash for Cash: Re-turn Scheme Raises €291.50 for St. Paul’s!

We are thrilled to announce that our Re-turn scheme has been a resounding success, raising an incredible €291.50 for St. Paul’s National School!
Since April 7th, families have been enthusiastically contributing recyclable bottles to our orange Re-turn bins, and the results have truly paid off—both for our planet and our pupils. A huge thank you goes out to all the parents and children who took the time to participate. Your efforts have not only supported our Green Schools initiative but have also contributed directly to enhancing our students’ experience at school.
This money will be invested in new sports and P.E. equipment for the benefit of all our pupils. Our dedicated Sports Co-ordinator, Mr. Mulvaney, will ensure that the funds are used to bring exciting and engaging new resources to our PE programme.
This initiative is a wonderful example of what we can achieve together—doing good for the environment while making a real impact in our school community. With heartfelt thanks from all the staff of St. Paul’s, as well as the Green School Committee and Student Council—let’s keep up the momentum and continue working together for a greener, healthier future!

Green School Committee and Student Council Team Up for Re-turn Scheme!

Green School Committee and Student Council Team Up for Re-turn Scheme!

On Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th of May, our Green School Committee and Student Council once again joined forces to take part in the Re-turn scheme. Despite the blustery weather, we braved the elements and made our way to the local Tesco, proudly carrying a bag full of bottles to deposit in the Re-turn machine.
It was a fantastic hands-on experience for everyone involved. The children got to see first-hand how the Re-turn scheme works and understand the importance of recycling and looking after our environment.
The Re-turn scheme drew to a close on Friday 30th of May. This week, we are excited to count up all the money we’ve collected thanks to your kind donations. Every bottle returned has made a difference, and we’re so proud of the effort from our school community.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed bottles and supported this initiative.

We’ll be sure to share the final total soon — stay tuned!
